How to prototype a packaging dieline

Turn a clean digital file into evidence about fit, assembly and handling.

Print or cut at verified scale

Measure a known calibration line before spending time assembling the sample. Printer and cutter software can rescale without an obvious warning.

Use the intended material

A structure that works in copy paper can fail in board because thickness, grain, flute and crease behavior are different.

Record failures

Photograph interference, tears, weak locks and poor panel alignment. Feed those observations back into dimensions and allowances instead of treating the first sample as final.
