Guides
Bleed, safe area and fold allowances
Keep artwork allowances visible and separate from structural cut geometry.
Bleed extends beyond cut lines
Backgrounds normally continue beyond the final cut to absorb normal print and cutting variation. The required amount depends on process and converter.
Safe areas protect critical content
Logos, barcodes and regulatory text should stay away from cuts, folds, glue and closure interference. A single universal safe value is not production approval.
Folds distort artwork
Ink, coatings and graphics can behave differently across a score. Review the flat file and a folded physical sample before approving final art.
